The GAWDA Foundation Scholarship was created in 2011 for the purpose of providing support to recipients during their formal education. The amount available varies from year to year.
The GAWDA Foundation Scholarship is available to children and employees of active GAWDA member companies. The goal of the GAWDA Foundation is to promote education within the Gases and Welding Industry. Therefore, the Trustees make the decisions regarding use and distribution of the funds available.
Your support is needed to keep the scholarship program alive.
We are now running the scholarship fund drive in conjunction with the SMC and the scholarship awards program. 70 scholarships have been awarded since the program began. In 2013, eleven were awarded, in 2014, fifteen were authorized and fourteen were awarded and in 2015, fifteen were authorized and twelve were awarded. In 2016, 10 were awarded. In 2017, 11 were awarded. In 2018 , 12 scholarships were awarded. For 2019 GAWDA will match member donations, up to $25,000, to support this worthwhile program. Your donation demonstrates to your employees and to fellow members your commitment to advancing education for the future of our industry.
