GAWDA is proud to continue its long-standing tradition of supporting deserving charities through the GAWDA Gives Back Program. Through the generosity of GAWDA members, the association has donated millions of dollars over the years to organizations making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
For the 2026 GAWDA Gives Back campaign, GAWDA President Allison Earlbeck has selected Canines for Disabled Kids and Second Chance Animal as this year’s recipients.
Canines for Disabled Kids. Canines for Disabled Kids, helps children with disabilities gain greater independence through service dog partnerships through community advocacy. These dogs do more than assist – they bring confidence, safety, and a greater sense of possibility to everyday life. It takes about two years to train a service dog, with costs ranging from $35k-$50K. Through scholarships, they help families take a step closer to that life-changing support.
Second Chance Animal Services helps keep pets with the people who love them most—veterans, women in domestic violence situations, senior citizens, and individuals and families facing financial hardship. By removing financial barriers to veterinary care, they help families stay together—ensuring pets remain in the homes where they are loved most.
